Warwick Square Osteopaths

Osteopathy for Babies and Children
Paediatric Osteopathy is a specialism in which a variety of gentle, osteopathic techniques are used to treat babies and children.
Since each child is unique, our osteopaths take a holistic approach to support your child's overall health and wellbeing. We will take a full health history for your baby, including details of the pregnancy, delivery and early weeks. This is followed by examination and treatment.
Our Osteopaths use gentle, therapeutic touch to help release any tensions held in your child's body and aim to support their natural healing processes. They use a variety of techniques, including cranial osteopathy, gentle massage and stretching, to relax and ease strained tissues and structures.
Treatment is baby / child centred. We can work round whatever position in which your baby is comfortable in, such as being held in your arms, whilst being fed etc are all fine. You can talk or play with your child during the session if it helps keep your child happy and relaxed.
Our osteopaths may also suggest some 'homework' such as massage techniques or gentle exercises, for you to do with your baby.
Occasionally our osteopaths may decide that your child needs referral to a different professional such as your health visitor or GP, in which case and with your permission, we can contact them for you.
For any child below the age of 16, it is a legal requirement for a person with parental responsibility to be present for the appointment.
If you have any further questions about how your child may benefit from osteopathic treatment, please feel free to get in touch.
