Osteoarthritis and the knee
Jennifer came to the practice complaining that her left knee was sore. The pain had come on gradually and she felt that the knee was stiff. It hurt most when she was weight bearing which she did for a lot of the day as she was a supervisor at a shop which had a lot of stairs. She had been to the doctor who had given her pain killers which had helped ease things but she wanted to know if there was anything that we could do to get at the underlying cause of the problem.
After examining her knee her osteopath explained that in all probability that she had developed arthritis in her knee "like lots of us in our fifties". After five treatments there was an improvement in both the function of her knee and in the pain and aching.
Jennifer now comes for treatment once every two months to maintain things.
